We are pleased to share with you a fresh new look for our newsletter, which offers some recent highlights in scholarship, lectures and other law school developments. A goal of this newsletter was to offer our fellow law schools a glimpse of some of the wonderful things that happen within our walls. Professor Suzette Malveaux “Class Actions at the Crossroads: An Answer to Wal-Mart v. Dukes,” 5 Harvard Law and Policy Review (2011). Following the Supreme Court’s historic decision of June 20, Professor Malveaux provided commentary to national media including CNN, PBS, and the New York Times.

“Dodd Frank: What Was Intended; How are We Doing?” Christy L. Romero, Acting Special Inspector General, SIGTARP. Ms. Romero leads a staff of federal agents, attorneys, investigators, and auditors investigating fraud, waste, and abuse related to TARP programs and providing oversight of those programs to protect Treasury’s investments.

Catholic Law’s orientation week community service tradition draws more than 100 volunteers from the first-year day and evening divisions. Community projects connect students with the surrounding neighborhood, assisting with back-to-school maintenance at a local elementary school and meeting with residents at an area nursing home.
